Campers in grades 1 to 8 arrived on June 28th for the beginning of the Elementary Summer Camp program. The campers were excited to see so many friends from the school year and returning from last year’s program. Tuesday marked our first special Treat Day and everyone enjoyed cooling off with a frozen treat. The theme for the first week was O’Canada and our campers enjoyed lots of sports and even learned some coding. What a great first week of camp!
The fun Camp activities continued into the second week with several activities. On Tuesday, the students participated in a virtual presentation by the Toronto and Region Conservation Authority exploring the essential role of bees. Wednesday marked the start of 3 special theme days. On Instant Challenge Day, campers took part in some amazing instant challenges in our main gym. Everything from javelin throw, cup stacking and cornhole toss, to scooter races, limbo, and target throwing! The students had a blast! The week continued with the students making and playing with their own slime creations and concluded with Monster Selfies where campers got creative and channeled their best monsters!
