STEM Club Excels at University of Toronto Design CompetitionHigh School NewsTCPS News News TCPS News Pre-School News Elementary School News High School News On Saturday, November 8, members of the Town Centre STEM Club proudly represented our school at the University of Toronto High School Design Competition (UTHSDC), held at the St. George Campus. This prestigious event brought together hundreds of high school students from across the city for a day of innovation and collaboration. The day began with an inspiring lecture by a U of T professor on the engineering design process, setting the stage for the challenge ahead. Students were then grouped into teams and tasked with solving a real-world problem: developing creative solutions to prevent flooding in Toronto’s subway system. Our Town Centre students worked alongside peers from other schools, demonstrating exceptional creativity, teamwork, and problem-solving skills under tight deadlines. One of our teams achieved an impressive score of 84 out of 100, with special recognition to Shashank R. for his outstanding leadership and contributions. The competition concluded with excitement and a renewed passion for STEM. This experience was more than a test of engineering ability—it was an opportunity for growth, collaboration, and inspiration. We are incredibly proud of our STEM Club members for their dedication and look forward to seeing their talents shine in next year’s event.
