2025 Elementary Mathematica and Gauss Math Contest Results

Mathematica Centrum Contests (Grades 3–9)

Overview:

• Hosted by the Mathematics Contest Centre
• Prestigious national contests for Grades 3–9.
• 42,830 students participated across Canada.
• All TCPS students from Grades 3–8 participated; select Grade 8 students also wrote the Grade 9 Newton Contest.

TCPS Highlights:

• 7 students achieved perfect scores, including one in Grade 9.
• 56 students placed on the Mathematica Honour Roll (top 5% nationally).
• Students were recognized at the Academic Awards Ceremony in June.

📐 Gauss Mathematics Contests (Grades 7–8)

Overview:

• Hosted by the Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing (CEMC) at the University of Waterloo.
• Designed to promote logical reasoning and problem-solving.
• Multiple-choice format based on national curriculum.

TCPS Highlights:

• Outstanding Achievement Award:
  • Grade 7: Ethan L.
  • Grade 8: Gibran S.
• 32 students received the Certificate of Distinction (top 25% nationally).
