Throughout the week, students embraced each day’s theme, showcasing their creativity while enjoying a fun and engaging start to the school year. Spirit Week began with Magical Monday, inviting students to step into a world of imagination by dressing as their favourite fairy-tale characters, superheroes, or characters from movies and games. The hallways were filled with colourful costumes as students proudly brought beloved characters to life. On Time Travel Tuesday, students journeyed through the decades and beyond. Many arrived dressed in vibrant fashions inspired by the 1980s and 1990s, while others showcased futuristic looks, demonstrating creativity and excitement as they explored different eras through their attire. The fun continued with Wild West Wednesday, where cowboy hats, denim, flannel shirts, boots, and Western-inspired outfits transformed the school into a lively frontier town. Students fully embraced the theme and enjoyed seeing the many creative interpretations of the Wild West. Spirit Week concluded with Team Spirit Thursday, a celebration of House League pride. Students wore their House League shirts and proudly represented their teams, demonstrating the strong sense of belonging, teamwork, and community that is an important part of school life at TCPS. Students then came together during the Spirit Week assembly to wrap up the excitement from the week, learn that TCPS hit our goal of $10,000 for our annual Terry Fox School Run this year, which also unlocked 10 teacher challenges that 10 lucky students got to partake in. Our brace staff took pie to the face, wore an inflatable dino for the day, and one we’re looking forward to most, one of our Grade 2 students taking over as Principal for a Day in the weeks to come! The assembly wrapped up with this year’s Student Activity Council being announced with 11 of our incredible MYP students. Beyond the costumes and themed activities, Spirit Week provided students with an opportunity to connect with classmates, celebrate their school community, and create lasting memories. The week was filled with energy, laughter, and school spirit, making it a wonderful way to kick off another exciting year of learning and growth.
