Spirit of Wisdom Silver Medalists Hosted by Bond Academy, a fellow SSAF school, Spirit of Wisdom is an interschool quiz competition. Each participating High School is able to enter three participants. Through an audition process, we were proud to have Cyrus F., Brendan M., and Jolene U. put their skills to the test representing Town Centre Private Schools. Held on February 20th the trivia competition with buzzer and rapid fire rounds, covered a variety of topics such as Mathematics, Science, History, current affairs, general knowledge, sports, and technology. The TCPS team dominated the “scatter” round and excelled in the “rapid fire” round pulling ahead and placing 2nd overall. The team was awarded a trophy and Cyrus, Brendan and Jolene received medals and certificates for their accomplishment. It was a great experience for the students. Congratulations Cyrus, Brendan and Jolene! TCPS Tik Tok – Grades 7 to 12 Talent Show The annual Town Centre Talent Show, this year titled TC TIK TOK, was held on the afternoon of Friday, February 14th and was a great success. Students and staff from grades 7 through 12 auditioned the week leading up to the show and 19 talented students and staff performed this year. Thank you to this year’s hosts: Angie, Chloe, Jaime, Jaimie, Maliha, and Rebecca, to the sound and tech crew of Edison, Faiz, Seyon and Sneh, and to STRIVE who sold snacks in support of their fundraising efforts towards education in Haiti. Bravo to the students and staff who participated for their courage and outstanding talent. We are looking forward to the 2020 Talent Show! Fundraiser for World Wildlife Foundation in Australia Town Centre Private Schools held a special school-wide initiative to raise funds for the (WWF) World Wildlife Fund’s relief efforts following Australia’s wildfires, which have scorched millions of acres of land and displaced many human and wildlife populations. The devastating wildlife loss is estimated at more than one billion animals. On Wednesday, January 15th the TCPS High School students and on Friday, January 17th, the Elementary students wore Civvies clothes instead of their school uniform for a donation of $2.00 or more. We are pleased to announce that our students collectively raised $2,079. All proceeds will be donated to the WWF for their Australian relief efforts. The money will be used to support wildlife rescue, care and recovery of different Australian animal species, many of which are not found anywhere else in the world. Anyone wishing to donate directly to the WWF should contact them online at wwf.ca. On behalf of the WWF, we thank you for your support and generosity.
