Celebrating Excellence: Highlights from the Elementary Awards Ceremony

The Academic Awards for the 2025–2026 school year were presented on Tuesday, June 16. With proud family members in attendance, our Grade 7 students were recognized for their dedication, perseverance, and outstanding achievement.

Students earning a place on the Honour Roll (80% average) and the Principal’s Honour Roll (90% average) were celebrated for their consistently high academic performance and commitment to excellence across all subject areas.

We extend our congratulations to the Grade 7 students who demonstrated exceptional initiative, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for learning, achieving the highest distinction in their respective subjects:

In addition to subject awards, students were recognized for their outstanding achievements in national mathematics competitions. Our school continues to demonstrate exceptional performance, maintaining a strong tradition of excellence across Canada-wide contests.

The Grade 7 Gauss Contest, hosted by the Centre for Education in Mathematics and Computing (CEMC) at the University of Waterloo, incorporates engaging, multiple-choice questions based on common provincial curricula to promote logical reasoning, problem-solving, and mathematical thinking, helping students develop a deeper appreciation for math.

Students in Grades 3 – 8 also participate annually in the Canadian National Mathematica Centrum Contests which are among the most prestigious mathematics competitions in North America. Students were recognized as Canadian Champions for achieving a perfect score and as School Champions for achieving the highest score in the school.

Winners of the Grade 6 STEM Fair and Grade 5 and 7 Ted Talks received plaques for their achievements in competitions held earlier in the year.

These achievements reflect not only academic strength, but also curiosity, resilience, and a deep commitment to learning—qualities we are proud to nurture within our students.
