Celebrating Global Cultures at TCPS: A Vibrant International Day ExperienceHigh School NewsTCPS News News TCPS News Pre-School News Elementary School News High School News International Day in our High School division was a dynamic celebration of diversity, discovery, and hands‑on learning. Students put their knowledge to the test with a lively South America–themed Jeopardy quiz, explored traditional Sri Lankan board games, and experienced elements of mindfulness and movement by participating in Sun Salutation yoga. Cultural creativity flourished at stations like Chinese knot‑making, and Tai Ji, where they learned the fundamentals of balance and flowing movement. A highlight for many was the opportunity to engage with Indigenous cultural activities, offering students meaningful insights into First Nations traditions and artistic expression. The celebration continued with vibrant, hands‑on Indian art experiences, including mehndi design, rangoli creations, and diya painting, allowing students to connect with the colours, symbols, and significance of Indian cultural artistry. Students were also treated to a rich multicultural food experience. Through the STRIVE lunch sale and a cultural food exchange, they sampled flavours from around the globe—an opportunity that complemented the day’s learning by encouraging students to explore global cuisines and appreciate the diversity of culinary traditions represented in the TCPS community. International Day was not only a celebration of traditions from around the world but also a meaningful reminder of the importance of cultural understanding, respect, and connection.
