Future-Ready Education: Inside TCPS’s High School & IB ExperienceHigh School NewsTCPS News News TCPS News Pre-School News Elementary School News High School News On October 22nd, Town Centre Private Schools hosted an engaging High School and IB Information Night, offering families a closer look at the school’s academic philosophy, programs, and student success pathways. Highlights from the Session include: Academic Excellence: TCPS blends traditional prep-school values with modern teaching methods. Students benefit from small class sizes, subject-specific tutorials, and a mix of inquiry-based and traditional learning. Accelerated Programming: Students complete most compulsory courses by Grade 10 and can choose from enriched options, including the International Baccalaureate (IB) Programme from Grades 9–12. Student Support: Daily tutorials, academic monitoring, and university application guidance ensure students stay on track and feel supported. IB Programme: The IB Diploma Programme fosters global-mindedness, critical thinking, and academic rigor. IB graduates often earn university credits and scholarships, with higher success rates in post-secondary education. Graduate Success: TCPS alumni attend top universities such as University of Toronto, York, Waterloo, and Queen’s, pursuing fields like Engineering, Life Sciences, and Business—with many earning scholarships. Extracurricular Life: A wide range of sports and clubs—from basketball and curling to Model UN and HOSA—encourage students to explore interests and build leadership skills. Parents and students had the opportunity to ask questions and speak with the High School Principal, Ms. Leepy Hajra, the High School Vice-Principal, Mr. Ken Huber, department heads, current and former students in breakout sessions following the presentation.
