With great excitement, TCPS grade 9 students embarked on our annual Leadership Experience this year!
On September 18th, our grade 9 class journeyed to the renowned Camp Wanakita Leadership Centre in the picturesque Haliburton Highlands for a thrilling three-day outdoor adventure. Camp Wanakita, a year-round outdoor education facility with over 60 years of history, is celebrated for its exceptional outdoor leadership training for both youth and adults.
This three-day trip, an integral part of Town Centre Private High School’s Physical Education program, offered students the chance to bond and engage in exhilarating outdoor activities. From conquering the high ropes course and scaling the climbing wall to mastering fire-building techniques, participating in survival games, and exploring scenic hikes, students were encouraged to step out of their comfort zones and enjoy quality time with their peers.
This cherished tradition at Town Centre has been a highlight for many years, fostering a sense of community and adventure. It has consistently provided students and teachers with the opportunity to learn, have fun, and connect in a dynamic and less structured environment.
