Inside Engineering Summer Workshop Sparks InnovationHigh School NewsTCPS News News TCPS News Pre-School News Elementary School News High School News Students at Town Centre Private Schools are currently immersed in our NEW Inside Engineering Summer Workshop, offered in partnership with Ontario Tech University. Designed for students in Grades 7-12, the program provides hands-on experience with Arduino, Onshape CAD software, and EV3 robotics, helping students develop technical skills, creativity, and problem-solving abilities through real-world engineering challenges. In addition to learning new technologies, students benefit from guest speakers, opportunities to meet industry professionals, and the chance to ask questions about careers in STEM. Participants have also connected with Ontario Tech engineering students and professionals from organizations including BWXT, OPG, and Hydro One. This week’s projects included building and programming robots for a team-based sumo battle competition, where robots competed to push opponents outside the arena, and designing a responsive automatic gate from digital prototype and programming to a fully functioning physical model. Beyond the technical learning, the workshop has fostered an exceptional sense of community. Students of all ages have been engaged, enthusiastic, and supportive of one another throughout the program. Through experiences like this, Town Centre Private Schools continues to inspire and equip the next generation of innovators, creators, and future leaders in STEM.
