Journey to Success: The Graduating Class of 2024High School NewsTCPS News News TCPS News Pre-School News Elementary School News High School News June 21st marked a special day on the TCPS High School calendar with the Grade 12 Graduation. Wearing their caps and gowns for their final day at TCPS, students came to the stage to be presented with their Ontario Secondary School Diplomas (OSSD). In addition to receiving their OSSD’s, graduates were also recognized with certificates and plaques for Honour Roll for achieving an overall average of 80% or higher and Principal’s List having achieved an overall average of 90% or higher. Sixteen graduates were presented with full IB Diplomas. It’s a momentous occasion for these students as they transition to the next chapter of their lives! Special commendations were also awarded to those who excelled in specific subjects. Congratulations to the grade 8 students who were recognized for demonstrating initiative, enthusiasm, and genuine interest and ability and achieved the highest grade in the following subject areas: Ella S. – English Zoe C. – Social Sciences and Humanities Tommy Y. and Cotaroy C. – Modern Languages Xinyi (Selina) Zhang – Arts Ethan B. – Mathematics Tina S. – Business Studies Ella S. – Sciences Ethan B. – Canadian and World Studies Students who participated in and were successful were recognized for the performance in a variety to external school competitions including the following: Ethan B. and Tommy Y. DECA Provincial Champions medal and plaque recipients (group) Ahtesham U.H. DECA Provincials medal and certificate recipient (individual – finished in top 10) Cotaroy C. and Tommy Y. Canadian Open Mathematics Contest Certificate of Distinction recipients (top 25% worldwide) Tommy Y. Canadian Senior Mathematics Contest Certificate of Distinction (top 25% worldwide) and medal recipient (highest mark in the school) Tina S. Canadian Senior Mathematics Contest Certificate of Distinction Tommy Y. Lieutenant Governor’s Award Ethan B. Governor General’s Medal This year’s valedictorian, Ethan B. shared a wonderful speech with his fellow graduates. It was a day filled with great memories and fond farewells. Our students will be heading off to the University of Toronto, McMaster University, Western University, Toronto Metropolitan University, York University, University of British Columbia and Western University to name a few. Scholarships have been granted to 83% of the TCPS graduating classes. We wish the graduating class of 2024 all the best for the future.
