Reconnecting, Competing, Succeeding: Town Centre at HOSAHigh School NewsTCPS News News TCPS News Pre-School News Elementary School News High School News written by HOSA Club President & Grade 12 student, Lakshmi T. This past November, 13 members from our HOSA chapter participated in the Fall Leadership Conference (FLC). The official rankings were recently released prior to the Spring Leadership Conference, and several of our students had notable performances. Abishai N. placed in the top 50 for Medical Math, Mai D.H. placed in the top 40 for Pharmacy Science, Kajaharan K. placed 5th in Medical Spelling, and Lakshmi T. placed 4th in Behavioral Health. In March, seven Town Centre students traveled to downtown Toronto to the Metro Toronto Convention Centre to participate in the HOSA Spring Leadership Conference (SLC). The conference brought together over 8,000 students from more than 305 schools across the region, making it an extremely competitive and enriching event. This year was particularly meaningful for our chapter, as it marked the first time in over four years that Town Centre students have attended the conference as a collective group. The students who represented Town Centre and their respective events were: • Kripa D. – Pathophysiology• Mai D.H. – Pharmacy Science• Kajaharan K. – Medical Spelling• Abishai N. – Medical Math• Arshia N. and Emily W. – Human Growth and Development• Lakshmi T. – Behavioral Health The conference provided students with a valuable opportunity to challenge themselves academically, engage with peers who share similar interests in healthcare, and represent Town Centre on a larger stage. As chapter president, I also found it especially enriching to connect with other HOSA chapter presidents and student leaders from across the region, as it allowed me to exchange ideas and learn more about how other chapters continue to grow. I am very grateful for the opportunity to attend and hope that the school will continue to support Town Centre’s involvement in HOSA and participation in the Spring Leadership Conference in the coming years.
