The STRIVE Club set a goal at the beginning of the school year to raise $500 for UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees). STRIVE has been working with the Canadian branch which supports Afghani refugees with food, shelter, clothing and education requirements as they start their new lives in Canada. Fundraising efforts have included an ongoing online fundraising page, as well as a raffle and a candy cane sale held prior to the holidays.
Leading up to Valentine’s Day, the STRIVE Club sold carnations which were delivered on Valentine’s Day with an attached special message from the sender. Thanks to this fundraising event and $245 in sales, the STRIVE Club has met their fundraising goal of $500 for UNHCR. Well done!
