A spirit of pride and celebration filled the air on June 17 as the Grade 8 Class of 2026 marked their graduation day.

The ceremony began with a formal procession and the singing of the national anthem, setting a tone of pride and celebration that carried throughout the day. Surrounded by proud families, dedicated staff, and their peers, each student crossed the stage to a wave of applause that reflected both their accomplishments and the strong sense of community that defines the school experience.

As part of the formal presentation, students were recognized not only with their diplomas but also with distinctions for academic excellence. Honour Roll (80% or higher) and Principal’s List (90% or higher) designations celebrated the dedication and perseverance demonstrated by many members of the graduating class. A commemorative slideshow offered a heartfelt reflection on the students’ journey, highlighting how far they have come and the bright futures ahead.

The ceremony continued with a wide range of academic awards celebrating outstanding achievement across subject areas. These honours recognized students who showed initiative, curiosity, and a genuine passion for learning. Congratulations to the following students:

  • Digital Design (Computer Studies) Award: Galaxy Y.
  • Music Award: Ellie L., Ethan L. and Isaac L.
  • French Award: Ella A., Saiyuri C. and Marcus M.
  • Visual Arts Award: Ella A., Nila B., Selina G. and Eric W.
  • Physical Education Award: Austin W. and Saiyuri C.
  • Individuals & Societies Award: Eric W.
  • Science Award: Syna B., Aleeza A. and Monica C.
  • Mathematics Award: Eunice C.
  • English Award: Anwesh P.
  • Merit Award: Ella A. and Ellie L.
  • Valedictorian Award: Saiyuri C.

Students also distinguished themselves through co-curricular excellence. The STEM Fair Award was presented to Saiyuri C. for her outstanding project work, while mathematics competition results highlighted exceptional national-level achievement. Notably, Isaac L. earned top distinction as a school champion in the Gauss competition with a perfect score. For the Mathematica contests, Aahana A. and Athan F. were also school champions with the top score in the school in the Grade 8 Lagrange contest, while Ellie L. achieved a first-place Canadian and school champion with a perfect score in the Grade 9 Newton contest. Several additional students received honourable mentions for near-perfect performances, reflecting the strength of the program and the students’ commitment to excellence.

The highlight of the ceremony was the valedictory address delivered by Saiyuri C., who achieved the highest overall average in the graduating class. Her speech captured the spirit of resilience, curiosity, and growth that defined the class’s journey. She spoke with clarity and inspiration, leaving a lasting impression on all in attendance.

The ceremony concluded with the traditional cap toss—a joyful moment symbolizing both an ending and a beginning—followed by opportunities for photos, celebrations, and shared memories among families and friends.

Following the graduation ceremony students, dressed in formal attire, and staff travelled by bus to the Crystal Fountain Banquet Hall for a special afternoon luncheon and dance.  It was a great way to celebrate graduating with their friends.

Congratulations to the Grade 8 Class of 2026 for their passion, determination, and the lasting impact they have made on their school community. As they step confidently into the next chapter of their academic journeys, they carry with them not only their achievements, but also the values, friendships, and experiences that will continue to guide their success.
