Welcome to the TCPS Pumpkin Patch! [new_royalslider id=”27″] As part of the festivities leading up to Halloween, the Pre-School Toddler and Pre-Casa classes enjoyed a special day on October 21st in the 2nd annual TCPS Pumpkin Patch. The Amarillo Campus playfield was decorated for the season with scarecrows and 120 little pumpkins scattered throughout the grass. The students were delighted to visit the Pumpkin Patch, and select their own special pumpkin. They also enjoyed a wagon ride. We hope that all of our students have a safe and Happy Halloween! TCPS Grade 3 Quilts Win 3rd Place in Markham Fair In the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) Transdisciplinary Unit, “Where We Are in Place and Time”, our grade 3 students examined the life of early settlers in Upper Canada in the 1870’s. As part of the Summative Task component, the students in the grade 3 classes collaborated to create a unique quilt in their own Town Centre Quilting Bee. This has been a special winter group project with the classes making beautiful quilts in 2018 and 2019. This fall, the 2 quilts were entered in the Markham Fair Needlecraft Contest. We are pleased to announce that the 2018 blue quilt placed 3rd in the tied quilt – any bed size category and the 2019 red quilt also placed 3rd in the category of hand quilted quilt – made by 3 people or more. These quilts are proudly on display along with their Markham Fair ribbons in the grades 2 and 3 hallway and by the Senior Band Room. Congratulations to the students and staff for their hard work in producing these delightful creations. WE Day 2019 [new_royalslider id=”25″] On Thursday, September 19th, Town Centre students from STRIVE attended WE Day at the Scotiabank Arena. Each year the WE organization hosts WE Day to inspire thousands of lucky high school students to make a change in their local and global communities. This year, Town Centre students were treated to some spectacular performances and speakers. STRIVE member Caitlyn shares her experience from WE Day 2019. WE Day was and will always be one of the highlights of this year. The WE Day presenters provided ideas about how we can all be heroes in different areas of our communities such as with the environment or with new innovations. I enjoyed the different speakers and performers such as James Arthur, David Suzuki, Johnny Orlando, Lilly Singh and so many more! I was encouraged by several speakers who came from different walks of life, shared their experiences, and taught us how important our impact on the world is. I will never forget these inspiring people and that I can make a difference. Previous Page 1 Interim pages omitted … Page 104 Page 105 Page 106 Page 107 Page 108 Interim pages omitted … Page 115 Next
