High School Mud Cup 2024

May 31st marked the annual TCPS High School Mud Cup which is the final House activity for the year. Students wore House athletic gear and running shoes for the whole day. We played kickball, a crazy fusion of softball and soccer!

This year the Thunderbirds won the Mud Cup with a total of 22 runs. The Gryphons were 2nd with 11 runs, followed by the Dragons with a score of 9 and the Phoenix with a score of 5.

It was a great opportunity for all high students and staff who enjoyed an afternoon together before the end of this academic year!

TCPS IB Exhibition Week

During the week of May 27th, Town Centre Private Schools held a series of IB Exhibitions.

Town Centre’s Theory of Knowledge (TOK) Exhibition was held on Wednesday, May 29th showcasing our IB DP Grade 11 TOK students! TOK Grade 11 students will be exhibiting their exploration of three objects in which they have applied TOK concepts to the real world. Selected students will be presenting their exploration to a panel of judges.

The Grade 5 PYP Exhibition, held the following day, is the culminating project of the IB PYP, typically undertaken by students in their final year of the program. Over the past weeks, these young inquirers engaged in deep, self-directed exploration of diverse real-world issues. They demonstrated remarkable creativity, critical thinking, and collaboration skills as they researched, took action, and developed insightful presentations. The exhibition showcased their hard work and learning, with students confidently sharing their findings and reflecting on their growth. This event not only celebrated their achievements but also highlighted their readiness to transition into the next phase of their education. Congratulations to our Grade 5 students for their outstanding effort and dedication!

On Friday, May 29th, our Grade 8 students completed their MYP Community Projects, showcasing their commitment to service and social responsibility. The MYP Community Project is a significant element of the IB Middle Years Programme (MYP), designed for students in their third or fourth year of the program. Throughout this project, students identified pressing local and global issues, devised actionable solutions, and implemented initiatives that made a positive impact in their communities. From environmental conservation efforts to social awareness campaigns, their projects reflected a deep understanding of the importance of civic engagement and global citizenship. The culmination of their hard work was presented to the school community, highlighting their problem-solving skills, creativity, and dedication. Congratulations to our Grade 8 students for their inspiring projects and meaningful contributions!
