HOSA Students Advance to International Leadership Conference HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America) is a well-known organization that focuses on health-related topics and provides opportunities to High School students to compete in Canada’s largest health science competition. Topics include behavioural health, medical terminology, veterinary science, forensic science and more. Through this organization, students have the opportunity to explore the field of health science, develop relevant skills, collaborate with peers and get involved within their school. The TCPS HOSA club recently finished their long journey that started last September. Members successfully participated virtually in the Fall Leadership Conference, followed by two rounds at the Spring Leadership Conference. TCPS students Noya K., Faizan N., Natasha N., Alice Q. and Jolene U. advanced to compete in the second round. Faizan N., Natasha N. and Jolene U. ranked 4th in the Public Health event and they have been invited to compete in the International Leadership Conference in Nashville at the end of June. Congratulations! An Enchanted Night at Prom As the end of another school year approached, senior students excitedly anticipated the prom. In preparation for this special night, the prom committee was very busy making the beautiful invitations, table place cards, creating decorations and assembling gift bags for all the grade 12 students and their guests. The theme this year was “Enchanted Night” and the event was held at the Oakville Terrace in Richmond Hill on May 27th. The hall was decorated with blue, silver and gold balloons along with beautiful floral arrangements for table centerpieces. The students put together the playlist for both dinner and dancing. A TCPS tradition, each student, as nominated collectively by the grade 12 graduating class, was presented with a fun award, certificate and mini trophy. Everyone was dressed in formal attire and it was a memorable and special night with friends full of laughter, great memories, food and dancing. Winners of the TCPS Photography Contest This year’s Town Centre Photo Contest was a huge success! Twenty-five students from different grades submitted photos based on three established themes – Beauty, Stress and Rebirth. A prize was awarded to the winner for each theme. We would like to thank all the students for their participation and submissions. Congratulations to the following students: Theme of Beauty Winner – Hasan F.
